Snow Chance Coastal New Jersey Long Island Friday
Snow Chance Coastal New Jersey Long Island Friday
Back about a week ago it appeared that we would see some snow late Friday and Friday night for the entire area until model backed off from this idea. However since we were watching last night’s 1-3 inch snow play out, weather models have been nudging a weak system back westward. This trend continues today and I am going to mention the chance for snow late in the day Friday and Friday evening for coastal New Jersey and Long Island.
NAM FORECAST FRIDAY CLICK TO ANIMATE
The simulated NAM satellite radar shows the snow just offshore but some models are further northwest to the coast and argue for the chance for a coating to an inch or so for coastal New Jersey & Long Island late tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. The other models now show measurable snow touching the coastal areas. Given that we have seen 2 snow events in the last 5 days, it might be wise to keep and eye on this.
Another chance for a little mix precipitation could come Sunday night into Monday morning as a warm front sets up to our south. The European seems to be the only one showing this at the moment so we will look at this a bit closer after we solve this problem for Friday.
