Showers Moving East Falling Apart Active West Storm Track Develops
We are watching an approaching cold front that had quite a bit of shower activity ahead of it. However as we look on the satellite loop we see on the upper right the offshore coastal storm which is now racing into Newfoundland. This system continues to have a rather impressive satellite signature. To the west on the upper left is low pressure that reached peak intensity last night and is now weakening as it moves east. The storm to the east continues to dominate the flow and there is simply no room for two systems in the atmosphere at the moment so the second one gives in to the first and weakens. That’s why much of what is on the radar this morning will likely fall apart. We will leave in the chance for showers today under cloudy skies but it is quite possible that many areas miss out on any rain. Temperatures will be in the 40s.
SATELLITE
WEATHER RADAR
This cold front is one in name only because the air behind the front is every bit as warm as the air ahead of it if not more so. Also the next weather system is getting ready to come out of the southwest Temperatures go nowhere overnight with lows in the 30s to around 40 as skies partially clear. Wednesday will be a decent day of sunshine with highs in the mild 50s.
The next two weather systems will be heading our way from the Southwestern US and as they exit that region they will take tracks to our west toward the Eastern Great Lakes. The first one comes Thursday which will be able to hold on to some of its strength unlike today’s weather system The second one will come Sunday which will be even stronger and that leaves us two days in between (Friday & Saturday) to enjoy some dry weather.
We get rain on Thursday with mild temperatures in the upper 40s to middle 50s from north to south. Rain or showers should come in early Thursday and move out later in the day from southwest to northeast. Low pressure moves away and we see nice weather returning for Friday and Saturday. Both days will be a little colder and probably no worse than partly sunny both days. Highs will be in the 40s. Then we get the next storm to the Great Lakes with rain developing during the day Sunday and that will last into early Monday of next week. No snow is in the forecast anytime soon and the non winter winter continues into next week.
