September Starts Warm Dry Labor Day Weekend Outlook Tropics Not A Risk
August is gone and September begins. Usually September is a dry month and given that it was a dry summer, it simply means that the dry pattern continues at least for now. The satellite shots of the Eastern US show mostly dry clear conditions with nothing more than a few passing clouds. Mostly sunny skies will dominate for the rest of the day. Most highs will be 80 to 85 with 70s at the shore thanks to local sea breezes. Humidity levels are low and will remain so into Saturday. We have a nice cool night ahead with most lows in warmer urban centers in the low 60s. 50s will be the bottom inland and even a few upper 40s in the coldest spots.
Friday looks great for getaway day for those of you planning to, well, get away. Or maybe you are traveling inside the area of Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England. There are no issues Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 80s. with middle 80s from Southern Pennsylvania to Southern New Jersey southward.
Dew points are going to start toc ome up Saturday as well as temperatures as highs reach the middle to upper 80s but it should still be reasonably comfortable though technically it will be more humid than today and Friday. Also we should be dry rainfall wise until late Sunday afternoon.
A slow moving cold front will arrive with some showers and thunderstorms late in the day Sunday. It will be dry for most of the dayside. Skies will be partly sunny for most of the day. Humidity levels will be high as the dew points climb to the mid and upper 60s. Highs Sunday will reach the upper 80s to around 90 degrees.
Monday Labor Day shows our cold front slowing down to a crawl thanks to developments offshore. There may or may not be a tropical system well offshore to the Southeast and there could be another wave of low pressure that develops offshore. Until these systems clear to the east, the front will have a tough time moving east.
This leaves us with lots of clouds Monday and the chance for some showers and thunderstorms running around. Highs will be in the upper 70s to middle 80s. The tropical system south of Bermuda if it develops will be turning out to the northeast and will be no factor here other than it is helping to slow the front down. If this tropical system does not develop as the GFS advertisies it could leave our weather a bit unsettled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
