Long Island Week Ahead Cold Fronts Mostly Dry & On The Cool Side of Average

The day started with sunshine on Long Island and overall we will should a good day. Highs will reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees this afternoon. It will be in the cooler 60s to near 70 along the shore. There are some clouds to our west and there is a cold front that will be moving east. At some point those clouds will move in and mask some of the sunshine this afternoon. However no showers or thunderstorms are forecast for the daytime and into this evening so go right ahead and enjoy your day outdoors.

A weak cold front will move through tonight. It might produce a scattered shower or a thunderstorm. It appears that any severe weather will stay well to our west. Temperatures overnight will be in the low to mid 60s.

Tonight’s front stalls overhead and then becomes a warm front on Monday. Long Island will be on the east side of the warm front for much of the day. This likely means lots of clouds with a shower or thunderstorm possible until the warm front moves northward and then the cold front follows tomorrow evening with another shower or thunderstorm. Temperatures Monday will likely be in the 60s to near 70 all day. If the warm front manages to pass through and winds go southwest we could break above 70. The cold front follows with another shot for a shower or thunderstorm Monday evening into Monday night.

Tuesday through Friday looks very good for Long Island . The only issue Tuesday is that there might be some leftover clouds in the morning but it should go partly sunny before too long. Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80. Wednesday and Thursday will be lovely days with sunshine, very low humidity and highs in the mid to upper 70s both days. We can push it up to near 80 or so on Friday away from the ocean with sunshine. Another cold front brings a shower or thunderstorm late Saturday but Father’s Day for now is looking dry and nice.
