Over the next 7 days our weather is being dictated by the position of a low out in the Atlantic while the jet stream pattern aligns itself around it. We noted yesterday how everything seem to line up nicely to put our area in a sweet spot of weather through Monday of next week. Nothing in today’s models runs changes this view. With the low far enough out to the east, its weather impact on us is pretty much zero. It is allowing an upper ridge to our west to keep things nice and dry. Temperatures will be trending higher over the weekend as the onshore flow relaxes and winds actually turn more northwesterly. This is going to be one of those time where a northwest wind is going to cause weather conditions to warm up rather than cool down. At least this will be the case through Monday.

The only important change in our weather here will occur Monday night when a cold front moves through. The Atlantic low pushes east and this allows the trough along the east coast strengthens and drops southward. This opens the flow from Canada for a couple of days next week. A cold front comes through here Monday evening with the risk of a passing brief shower if at all. Then temperatures will cool off for a couple of days Tuesday and Wednesday. Saturday’s highs will be in the 60s away from the ocean. Sunday and Monday we will be in the 70s and there will be minimal impact from the ocean except for perhaps a local seabreeze right along the immediate shore. Tuesday and Wednesday we will see temperatures close to average. No big storms are on the horizon at all. No small storms are on the horizon at all either.
In the longer longer term as we get toward the end of the month, there are strong arguments for a very warm stretch. This time of year you have to be careful with that because of backdoor cold fronts that can magically appear. However the trend for dry weather seems to be a given for the next 2 weeks. There just doesn’t appear to be anything that suggests otherwise. If you are waiting for perfect gardening weather, this could be the stretch of weather you have been waiting for.
