Drier Air Returns Cold Front Passes

Week Ahead Warms Up Again

Thunderstorms late yesterday and last night have played themselves through. We still have an upper trough and cold front that is going to pass through today. Satellite loops show some patchy clouds swinging around from an upper trough lying east west from New England to Upstate New York. We should see no worse than partly sunny skies today and I am going to throw in the possibility for an isolated shower or thunderstorm popping up. The higher probability for this would be inland into the eastern half of New York State and across Southern New England. Most high temperatures today will be in the low to middle 80s.

We do have a slightly cooler air mass building into the Northeast tonight and Monday and skies tonight should become mostly clear. Most lows Monday morning will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. High pressure in New England will make for a mostly sunny Monday. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s in most places.

Temperatures will begin to warm up again Tuesday as high pressure from New England reforms off the US Southeast Coast. This will bring higher temperatures, gradually humidity levels will go up. However there won’t be much in the way of rain this week. In fact we could go right through Friday with not so much as a shower or thunderstorm anywhere.

Tuesday will be a sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Then we have Wednesday which will be sunny or no worse than partly sunny with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Thursday and very will be very hot days with highs reaching the mid to upper 90s and possibly some record highs could be reached in some places. As far as humidity goes, it will be reaching oppressive levels Thursday and Friday as dew points surge to the mid and upper 60s by the end of the week so it is going to feel very uncomfortable. Friday may also be the first day where we could see some late day showers and thunderstorms.
