Another Quiet Day Rain Coming Late Thursday Into Early Friday Cold Dry Weekend

We have another quiet day ahead of us with a weak high that has build southward from Northern New England and Quebec. In the meantime to the west you can see on the satellite loop some of the high clouds that are making their way eastward. This is going to leave us in a day where we will likely be no worse than partly sunny much of the time but clouds will start to slowly increase as the day wears on. Temperatures this afternoon will top out in the low and middle 40s.

Tonight will be a night where clouds will continue to slowly increase as a warm front develops across Upstate NY and that means that overnight temperatures will not drop much at all as they hold in the 30s. There could be a little rain that develops near that warm frontal boundary before it starts to move northward.

Thursday will be a cloudy day and it will turn warmer as the warm front goes north. Later in the day from west to east some showery rains will develop and there is even the chance that there could be a thunderstorm or two in the mix. Thursday highs will rise up into the 50s in many areas. Rain will end during the early morning hours Friday from west to east as the front moves offshore.

The front passes offshore and to the east and drier air comes in behind it. We don’t have any issues with the front stalling out and lingering clouds or precipitation so we should see some developing sunshine Friday. It will be colder with most highs in reached early in the day in the low to mid 50s and then temps should start to ease later in the afternoon.

The weekend looks to be dry and cold with some sunshine for both Saturday and Sunday. Highs Saturday will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Saturday night lows will be in the 20s to around 30. Sunday highs will also be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. No precipitation is forecast for either weekend day.
