Very Warm Humid Weather Into Next Week
Scattered Thunderstorms Possible Each Day
The very warm humid weather pattern continues with humidity levels forecast to remain on the high side (above 70) right through the middle of next week. It doesn’t help that we will have south to southeast winds off the ocean for the next several days. At least the upper atmosphere has calmed somewhat and while we see there is risk for scattered thunderstorms today, they will be spread out and it is likely that most folks won’t see anything. Some sunshine should take highs up tino the low and middle 80s which is at least a bit of a break on the temperature side of the ledger.

Not much changes from day to day over the weekend. High pressure offshore is keeping a very warm tropical flow into the Eastern US. In fact the winds are actually more south or south-southeast. This is going to keep temperatures from getting too hot but it will also keep the area soaked with high humidity and dew points that will be in the low and middle 70s for days on end. We may have to wait at least another week for a real humidity break.
We will have to include the possibility of a scattered thunderstorm or two over the weekend but it should be noted that they will be scattered and not widespread. Also it is quite possible that many of you may go the entire weekend without a drop of rain. We should note that there is a low chance that any one thunderstorm forms and sits over one particularly area and causes some localized flash flooding. The chances are low but they are worth mentioning.
Saturday and Sunday will both be very warm and humid days with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Maybe a hot spot or two wind up seeing highs near 90 degrees. It will be cooler at the coast with an ocean wind and watch for that scattered thunderstorm chance. Monday brings a stronger upper trough and a weather front and that may set off more widespread thunderstorm activity as well as the chance for some severe thunderstorms in the mix. Have a great weekend!
