Sunshine Finishes The Work Week Weekend Looks Mostly Dry

We have arrived at the doorstep of another weekend and overall it is looking good. High pressure in Eastern Canada has built its way southward along the East Coast and extends west into the Ohio Valley. It is a large high that is only slowly moving out to the east. The air remains on the warmish side of normal but nothing extreme as far as temperatures go. Skies today will be partly to mostly sunny. Most highs will be in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. Temperatures will be a few degrees lower thanks to a wind coming in off the ocean. Radar and satellite loops show the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states free and clear of any rain.

Weather systems that are moving along in the flow remain on the weak side and moisture availability remains minimal from the Atlantic Ocean. A weak weather front and upper trough will be dropping southeastward from Eastern Canada. It is so weak you can barely find it on weather maps and the air masses are about the same on either side of the frontal boundary.

I’m going to dice roll it here and leave rain out of the forecast for both Saturday and Sunday as the air is just too dry. Skies Saturday will be partly to mostly sunny. Temperatures will be on the warmish side of normal. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the upper 70s to near 80 but once again it will be cooler along the coast thanks to winds coming in from off the ocean.

Sunday is likely to be a repeat of Saturday. Another high pressure cell starts building in Eastern Canada and that high will find itself over the Eastern US as well as the Midwest and Deep South for much of next week. Skies Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny with high temperatures reaching the upper 70s to near 80 degrees again and it will be a few degrees cooler along the coast.

Not much is going to change next week weather wise. It is more of the same with dry rain free conditions, sunny skies by day, or at least no worse than partly sunny. Clear and cool at night. Weather systems remain week and distanced far apart so I am not seeing any rain for all of next week and possibly beyond next week. It is unusual to go 2 weeks straight with no rain but if it is going to happen, September and October are probably the most likely months as both months are very dry. Enjoy the weekend.
