Rain Arriving Late Today & Tonight Much Colder & Windy Thanksgiving & Friday
We have an approaching cold front and clouds are rolling in and rain is not far behind. We see rain increasing in coverage to the west and southwest. All of this is ahead of 2 approaching weather systems. The first is bringing rain which will overspread the area this afternoon and continue into tonight. The second front follows with colder air and that comes late Wednesday. Temperatures this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 50s.

The rain will come to an end during the early morning hours of Wednesday. Then the second cold front will approach. This front will have less moisture to play with so ahead of it Wednesday we will have clouds with some breaks of sun in the mix. However when the front passes Wednesday afternoon there might be a few scattered showers with it. Temperatures Wednesday will again be in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.
Behind the front winds will shift to the northwest and increase during the night and especially during Thanksgiving Day. A cold air mass will be building in from the west and low pressure in Eastern Canada strengthens so winds will be picking to gusts of 30 to 35 mph during Thanksgiving Day. We will see a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures will only be in the low to mid 40s for highs.
Even colder air will arrive Thursday night and by Friday morning temperatures will be in the 20s to around 30 degrees for lows. Friday dayside will see even stronger wind gusts with the tight pressure gradient. We may see wind advisories go up for gusts over 40 mph. We will see some sunshine Friday but temperatures are going to struggle with highs only in the upper 30s and lower 40s at best.
Friday night into Saturday morning will be very cold with lows in the 20s just about everywhere except for the warmest urban locations which may hover closer to 30 degrees. Winds will come off their highs and will continue easing during Saturday. Look for sunshine Saturday with highs in the low to mid 40s. Sunday brings another cold front so we should see temperatures warm into the 50s but we will also see showers developing Sunday as the front nears. Colder drier air will follow for Monday and we will need to see if this front for Sunday stalls with another wave of low pressure headed northeastward for Tuesday.
