We have some work to do today before weather conditions generally improve. You will notice on the satellite loop that we have clouds from Eastern New England to the Appalachians. This is due to yesterday’s cold front stalling out overnight. It is waiting for a developing wave in Virginia to move northeast and take the front offshore but that won’t happen until later today. Until then we will have clouds around today and there will be some rain or showers from time to time though thunderstorms will be well to the south across Eastern Virginia an North Carolina where there is the risk for severe weather. Depending on how much sun is around and some breaks in the rainfall, most highs today will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s though it may be a little higher in Southern New Jersey and points south.

Once the front goes offshore we could see some slow west to east improvement mid to late afternoon and skies should clear out overnight. Lows will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s. Humidity levels will be dropping Wednesday and we will enjoy a fair amount of sunshine. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
The weather pattern overall continues to show weather systems on the move from west to east in an orderly fashion with weather fronts passing every couple of days. The next one approaches for Thursday night and ahead of that we will see humidity inch up Thursday and sun will give way to some clouds with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s in most places. We will throw in the risk for a shower or thunderstorm late in the day as well as overnight with a passing front. Weather should improve some for Friday but once again we have a stalling front that will linger into Saturday. That means the risk for showers around for Friday night as well as Saturday though we are not sure of the specifics just yet.
