Improvement Continues More Sun Less Clouds & Showers Today & Memorial Day

We are finally in a better place weather wise across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England. The upper trough over New England is moving into Atlantic Canada. This lessens the energy rotating around the backside of the trough. Skies today should be no worse than partly sunny. We are going to leave the outside chance there could be a shower inland but for most of you much of the time today it will be dry. Most highs today will be in the mid 60s to around 70 degrees.

We could see a few isolated showers this evening, otherwise skies should be mostly clear tonight. Most lows will be in the 40s inland and low to mid 50s along the coast. Monday Memorial Day will be a mostly sunny day as temperatures head back to where they should be for this time of year. Most highs will be in the low to middle 70s and radars will be nice and quiet all day long.

Dry weather and high pressure will remain in control Tuesday so we should squeeze out one more decent day. Then the next round of low pressure that has been stretched across the Southern Plains to the Gulf States for the last several days will start to lift northeastward and so will the rain and thunderstorms that are associated with that low.

Unlike last week, this doesn’t seem to be the same set up as last week where we wind up with a coastal low, and onshore flow and cold air covering the northeast. Instead this seems to more of a set up where the low goes to our northwest and we deal with a trailing cold front. Tuesday we will see sunshine give way to arriving clouds. Highs in the low to mid 70s.

A warm front coming up from the south will bring clouds showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two beginning late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and continuing on and off into Thursday. Then a cold front will pass late Thursday or Thursday night and weather conditions should improve Friday as winds turn northwest. Wednesday highs will be in the 60s to near 70 or so thanks to the showery rains. Thursday as winds turn southwest highs will be in the 70s. Enjoy the rest of your weekend & please remember that Memorial Day is a day we honor and remember those who died for our nation and not about hot dogs on the grill. It is a somber day so take a moment to remember and honor those who served this nation but never came home and to honor those who served.
