Afternoon & Evening Downpours & Thunderstorms
We are deep into a tropical air mass and that means it will be another day of very warm temperatures, high humidity, and the risk for downpours & thunderstorms. Not everyone will see downpours and storms but we do have the severe weather risk for isolated severe thunderstorms today, mainly north and northwest of the coast. Also given the rich moisture filled atmosphere, local flash flooding is a possibility.
There will also be some sunshine in the mix and that will allow the atmosphere to get more unstable. High temperatures today will be in the mid to upper 80s with some hot spots touching the 90 degree mark. Dew points at or above 70 mean it will be very uncomfortable. The highest risk time will be in the afternoon and evening for thunderstorms and then they will die out after sunset. Friday morning lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

The large Bermuda high off the East Coast holds firm for Friday with a southerly flow aloft continuing to bring in moisture. Once again we will see downpours and thunderstorms develop but again it will be a case of trying to figure out when and where. Not everyone will see them. It will be very warm and very humid with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s with hot spots touching 90 degrees. The same holds for Saturday.
The Bermuda high will weaken over the weekend and the upper flow will turn more northwest. This will probably mean a lower chance for showers and thunderstorms popping up but it is not a zero chance. Otherwise we will see some sunshine and it will still be humid with highs again in the mid to upper 80s with hot spots close to 90 degrees.
