A Bit Chilly Today But Temperatures

Should Bounce Higher Wednesday

We are going to be enjoying a day of sunshine though given the time of year and the fact that we are in a cold air mass, the sunshine will be relatively ineffective. Satellite and radars show quiet weather conditions over much of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states. Other than some passing clouds we should have a good day overall. Winds will turn from north to south later today as high pressure moves offshore. Most highs today will be in the 40s to around 50 degrees which is a little bit below the average for this time of year.

Most lows tonight will be in the low to mid 30s except for 20s in areas inland. Wednesday we see high pressure offshore as well as in Eastern Canada and this will allow temperatures to bounce higher. However the upside is limited somewhat. Sunshine is forecast along with some clouds in the mix. Highs will be in the 50s with 40s along south and east facing shorelines.

Thursday looks to be the day where temperatures can warm up nicely. Winds will be southwest. A cold front will be approaching from the northwest, much like the weather system we had Sunday night into Monday morning. Expect some sunshine early in the day with clouds probably arriving later on. Highs should reach the mid to upper 60s and with some luck, a few places could touch 70 degrees if there is enough sun.

Thursday night into Friday morning brings a cold front and that front will produce some showers and perhaps the odd heavier downpour. We do not expect to see much in the way of rain. A quarter of an inch or so is possible and in some places less. Once the front passes offshore another cold air mass will arrive Friday and that will carry us through the weekend. Friday highs will be in the 50s. Saturday will be colder with highs just into the 40s followed by a bounce higher for Sunday. No rain is forecast for the weekend.
