Some Sun & Clouds Today Clouds & Rain Saturday
Better Weather Sunday
We have arrived at the doorstep of the weekend and with that in mind we have an upper trough that has moved into New England taking some overnight showers out to the east. There might still be a lingering shower or two this morning but in general we will see some improvement in sky conditions today with clouds and some sunshine. Humidity levels have come up and will stay elevated through the weekend and beyond. High temperatures today will generally be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Low pressure in the Middle Mississippi Valley is moving eastward along a boundary that lies to our south across the Mid Atlantic states. This wave will have some showery rains with it. Thunderstorm risks will likely be south of the boundary in Virginia so we will see showery rains from this wave moving in during the early morning hours Saturday.
Rainfall amounts will generally be on the order of a quarter of an inch or so. Note amounts are slightly higher to the south, closer to the wave track. Showery rains will likely exit during the afternoon from west to east. Thanks to cloud cover temperatures will likely be held back and hover in the 70s all day long.
Sunday looks to be the better of the two weekend days with some sunshine and clouds. We are going to throw in the chance of a pop up shower or thunderstorm as the air mass will be moist and the atmosphere slightly unstable. Chances are that most of you won’t see anything. Sunday highs will be in the low to middle 80s. Next week looks to be very warm and humid into midweek and then get ready for heat coming late next week and into the 4th of July weekend. Shower and thunderstorm activity next week should be minimal.
