Lovely Saturday of Sunshine Chance For Thunderstorms Sunday Afternoon
We have a beautiful Saturday of sunshine in the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states and it is coupled today with low humidity which has bled southward into the Mid Atlantic states which is much further south than previously modeled. In the warm humid air well to the south in the Carolinas and points south we could see storms develop there today but across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England south to Maryland and Delaware it is a day of sunshine and high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Tonight should be nice and clear with most lows in the 50s to lower 60s from inland to urban areas Sunday morning.

Sunday the southwest flow takes over and humidity levels will be going up rather quickly so expect some discomfort, certainly when compared to Saturday. We will see sunshine for awhile Sunday however an upper trough and a weak weather front will be heading southeastward and this could set off a few showers or possibly a thunderstorm or two Sunday afternoon. Sunday highs will be in the low to middle 80s from north to south.
This is the last weekend of the month of August and the last weekend of meteorological summer. Tuesday is September 1st and this begins the decent of average temperatures by 1 degree every three days or so. Warm weather with humid conditions look to hang on for the first half of this week and there is the risk for some thunderstorms though the chances are low Monday and Tuesday. They are likely to be higher Wednesday with a stronger system approaching from the Great Lakes.
Look for changeable sky conditions Monday and Tuesday which means we could go from cloudy to partly sunny depending on how much moisture is around. A slight risk for a shower or thunderstorm is in the cards both days with high temperatures in the low to mid 80s. Wednesday we see changeable sky conditions with the risk for late day storms and highs generally in the 80s.The risk for storms continues Thursday followed by some drying Friday ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend.
