Nice Weather Today & Thursday Before Showers Return Friday & Saturday
It took virtually all day for rain across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England to move out yesterday but finally it is gone and dry air has replaced it. We see much of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states covered under weak high pressure. Dew points have dropped into the 50s making for a comfortable Wednesday of sunshine, no rain, and high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Radars are nice and quiet and should remain so through the daytime Thursday. Skies tonight will be mainly clear with lows mostly in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Thursday will be a nice day as the dry air mass holds on early though it does move offshore later in the day. Dew points will stay in the 50s for much of the day but they will start to inch up into the lower 60s late in the afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches from Pennsylvania. Highs Thursday will reach the low and middle 80s inland with 70s along most shore locations.
Thursday night into Friday morning a weather front will be pushing through and there will be a line of showers and maybe a thunderstorm or two. The front will be moving slow enough that it could produce another around of three quarters of an inch to an inch an half of much needed rainfall. Much of the showers should be done by Friday morning however the front is going to slow down and stall just to our south.
Friday overall should not be terrible but it will be on the humid side with clouds and some sun. There could be a shower or thunderstorm running around at some point though they should be scattered in nature. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s with dew points in the mid to upper 60s making things a bit uncomfortable. Saturday will be quite humid. We are going to include the risk for showers or a thunderstorm Saturday though specifics are still uncertain at this stage. It will be very warm with most highs reaching the middle and even a few upper 80s in some places.
There will likely be a few showers around Saturday into midday especially along the coast south to New Jersey as a wave goes by. Some sun should break out in most places and it will be very warm and very humid. We can’t rule out another shower or thunderstorm in some spots. Saturday highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Sunday will be very warm and humid with some sun and clouds. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s with cooler readings at the coast both weekend days. For now we will leave any chance for showers out of the forecast for Sunday.
