Mostly Dry Conditions Over The Weekend
Cool Saturday Into Sunday Morning
A cold front has passed through overnight as the northwest flow over the Northeastern US strengthens. Out air will be coming out of Southeastern Canada and initially at least, the air is dry and on the warmish side. Today should be no worse than partly sunny. The rotation of a strengthening upper air storm in Eastern Canada will create a little bit of instability in the upper atmosphere so that will spark some clouds. Any scattered showers though should be in Upstate New York & New England, north of Interstate 84.

WEATHER RADAR
This northwest flow will only strengthen in the coming days and this will dictate weather conditions in Northeast and Mid Atlantic through the weekend. An upper trough rotating around the upper air storm in Atlantic Canada will drop into New England Friday night into Saturday and this is probably the only chance for a scattered shower or two and that will happen during the early morning hours Saturday as the front passes.
Friday itself should be no worse than partly sunny. Temperatures will be a little lower than today. Most highs will be in the middle 70s. Then the upper trough passes early Saturday morning. The gradient tightens and this sets up a rather windy day Saturday. Northwest winds will gust to 30 mph at time. We will have sunshine but I am going lower than guidance for highs which will only reach the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Winds will diminish somewhat Saturday night but the cool flow of air continues. Sunday morning will be rather cool inland with lows down in the 40s while closer to the coast and warmer urban areas, lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunday will be a nice day of sunshine. The coolest of the cool air will be moving out and highs Sunday will reach the low and middle 70s.
Another upper trough will be dropping into New England Monday and yet another late Tuesday into Wednesday. This will keep temperatures in check. There is a slight chance for showers Monday with the upper trough and probably a higher chance late Tuesday into Tuesday night early Wednesday as a follow up system moves through with a cold front. We see no signs of widespread rain nor do we see signs of heat returning through the middle of next week.
