Low Humidity Cool Through Tuesday
Severe Weather Risks Thursday
Yesterday’s cold front has passed through and is now offshore. This leaves us under a rather cool and low humidity air mass for the next couple of days. Satellite loops show a minimal amount of clouds around in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic so expect partly to mostly sunny skies today. Dew points will be settling in the ridiculously low 40s and temperatures today will be topping out in the mid to upper 70s. Radars are nice and quiet and we expect them to remain so through Wednesday.

WEATHER RADAR
Lows tonight into Tuesday morning will be in the 50s except near 60 or so in warmer urban locations and long the coast. Tuesday dayside we have weak high pressure moving overhead. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny. Dew points again will be in the 40s and temperatures will reach the mid to upper 70s.
Wednesday we will begin to see the temperatures inch up and dew points will be inching up as well through they will stay below uncomfortable thresholds. The south will be in play and while skies should at least be no worse than partly sunny, temperatures will be reaching back into the upper 70s and lower 80s in most places though the beaches will be somewhat cooler.
Moving on to Thursday this is going to be the one hot day this week. Low pressure will be moving east across the Great Lakes and for this time of year, this low is going to be particularly strong. It will drive a strong southwest flow ahead of it and this is likely to bring dew points up toward 70 and temperatures should reach into the 90s for Highs. It also sets up for an active round of thunderstorms as a cold front approaches.
The Storm Prediction center highlighted the area across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England south to Virginia as risk for severe weather in their long range forecast over the weekend. It is not often that SPC has the Northeast and Mid Atlantic in its sights in the long range so seeing it there is worth paying attention to and it continues to be in the forecast today. Thursday we will be in their short range window. Thursday will be hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s and there will be the risk for thunderstorms. Once this front passes it will turn a little cooler and humidity levels will drop Friday and into Father’s Day weekend which at this vantage point, is looking promising.
