Lingering Downpours Possible As Weather Conditions Slowly Improve
Even though the rains of yesterday are out to the east, we still have some work to do before we get some general improve. Winds from off the ocean are keeping in the moisture and clouds extend well west into Pennsylvania. We still need the upper trough to move through and that won’t happen until late today. Therefore it is a mostly gloomy day with lots of clouds, an east wind, and temperatures that are going to claw their way into the 70s though in some places it may hold in the 60s especially along the coast. Some light rain or drizzle is possible as well but we don’t expect to see any heavy downpours.

WEATHER RADAR
Once the upper trough exits and the easterly flow relaxes we should see clouds break up tonight with most lows in the 60s. Wednesday is shaping up to be a better day with sunshine returning. No rain is in the forecast. Temperatures Wednesday should make it back into the 80s inland with 70s along the coast.
Humidity levels will remain on the high side and only get higher Thursday. We also have another upper trough and another cold front that will approach Thursday. Warm and humid conditions will prevail with highs reaching the low to mid 80s. Downpours and thunderstorms will likely develop in the afternoon and evening and we could see rounds of heavy rains and local flooding though for now we don’t see it being a widespread issue like yesterday.
Friday sets up to be very warm and very humid as we have another upper trough and front approaching. Temperatures Friday will reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees inland and even the beaches will have a tough time before any sea breeze kicks in. We also see another round of downpours and thunderstorms. We should see improving weather conditions over the weekend with some humidity relief in the cards behind this weather system as long as it keeps on moving and doesn’t decide to hang around.
