We at least are going to enjoy a day of sunshine and temperatures in the 40s ahead of a warm front/cold front combination from a storm heading for the Great Lakes. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect tonight for a wintry mix of precipitation at the onset. Nothing happens during the day today and given the way the week has been, it would be a good idea to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. Some clouds could start coming in from west to east late this afternoon and evening. Radars are nice and quiet.

Clouds will increase tonight and precipitation arrives during the early morning hours. Remember the time change to night as clocks go an hour ahead at 2am. There will be some snow and sleet at the start for about an hour or so in the winter weather advisory area. Then it goes to sleet and some freezing rain and then to rain by 7 or 8am in most places. As far as amounts are concerned the idea of less than an inch of snow and sleet looks good here. The shot is quick and the amount of cold air is limited.

By 8 or 9am it should be mostly rain and by 10 or 11am it should be ending from west to east. Weather conditions improve during the afternoon on Sunday though there will be lots of leftover clouds. Temperatures overnight will rise from the near the freezing mark to the 40s on Sunday. In fact areas further south in Central and South Jersey south and west could reach the 50s and even some low 60s are not impossible.

The Nam model takes us from 2am Sunday to 2pm Sunday as this front moves through. If the precipitation were to come in faster there would be a longer period of frozen and freezing precipitation. The longer it holds off, the less frozen precipitation.

Snow South Light Spotty Temperatures Moderate

Next week looks good from Monday through Wednesday. Some sunshine on Monday with some clouds and a gusty wind is in store with highs reaching into the 50s. Tuesday and Wednesday are very good days with sunshine from start to finish with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. We may able to stretch dry weather for an additional day on Thursday before a cold front brings some showers. We might see 60s push northward into our area by the end of the week and before the next front passes.
