Winds Subside Tonight Warming Up
Wind gusts across the area last night and early this morning were in the 50 to 60 mph range bu look for winds to subside tonight as the pressure gradient over the northeast relaxes. The satellite loop shows two distinct features. First is the storm off the coast of New Foundland. The second is a weather system in the Rockies which is getting ready to move eastward. In between is a nice large area of clear skies across the Ohio Valley and Midwest and that is headed our way for Wednesday. We should see clear skies tonight with lows in the 30s except some 20s in some colder inland places. Wednesday we will have lots of sunshine with highs away from the ocean reaching the upper 50s to near 60. Coastal areas of New Jersey, Long Island and Connecticut will be subjected to a sea breeze in the afternoon. In those areas temperatures will drop back into the 40s during the mid and late afternoon. The south wind will pick up as well and become gusty again to 20 to 30 mph going into Wednesday evening along the coast.

Winds Subside Tonight Warming Up Radar Loops
Radars are going to be nice and quiet around here into Thursday. Showers from the next cold front won’t get here until later Thursday night and they will be with us during the day Friday. Temperatures Thursday will approach 70 inland but only be in the 50s to low 60s closer to the ocean.
Winds Subside Tonight Warming Up Thursday’s High Temperature Forecast
One thing we should point out regarding the weekend. We have an arctic front that will move through here Saturday evening. A strong storm will intensify in New England Saturday night which means we could see a repeat performance of the strong winds with gusts over 50 mph Saturday night into Sunday morning as temperatures fall.
