Wind Advisory Saturday Snow Showers Snow Squalls Winds Gusting to 50 MPH

It is still breezy tonight but we aren’t quite done with stronger winds. Wind Advisories are posted for Saturday afternoon into the evening. We have a second cold front coupled with and upper trough that will be coming through during the afternoon. Like a summer time line of showers, we will see some snow showers around and as the front passes we could also see a line of snow squalls. It will briefly snow hard if you get a squall and that will be coupled with strong wind gusts, possibly as high as 50 mph Saturday afternoon and into the early evening.

Until then we have a cold night ahead of us with clear skies and gusty winds but lower than they were earlier. Saturday morning lows will be in the teens to low 20s. Saturday will start with some sunshine but as the front approaches, clouds will develop and then we will watch the radar for snow showers and the line of snow squalls as it moves southeast from upstate NY and Pennsylvania.

Temperatures Saturday will reach the upper 30s and lower 40s before the front passes and then drop once the front moves to the east. Skies will clear and it will still be on the breezy side Saturday night with Sunday morning lows in the teens to lower 20s. Sunday look for sunshine but it will be cold. Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s inland and lower 40s along the coast.

The shot of cold air moves out quickly Sunday night as winds go south west and Monday we will have a nice day of sunshine with highs in the 50s in most places. The second in a series of storms will head our way out of the Southern Plains and this takes a track a little further south than yesterday. It will move across the northern Ohio Valley and into Upstate NY and New England. We will see rain from this Tuesday into Wednesday but this storm won’t be as strong as yesterday’s. Cold air will begin to spread out across Southern Canada and some of that cold air will drain southward. The third storm system in this series will be at the end of the week and we will have to watch and see how strong the high is to the north and whether this system takes a track even further south. This might open the door for some wintry precipitation late week but we will look at the situation more closely over the weekend.
