Widespread Freeze Cold Night Ahead Nice Saturday Chance Showers Sunday
Our back to back storms have moved away to the east leaving 2 to 3 inches of rain in many areas and the first accumulating snows for the season for parts of Southern and Southeastern New England. Many of you from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley and long island saw the first snowflakes and ice pellets of the season. Parts of Northern Connecticut saw a slushy inch or two. Now it is on to the cold for tonight and Saturday.

Clouds are breaking up on the satellite and the regional and local radar show that the last of the rain and snow has moved away to the east and skies should clear out tonight.

Freeze warnings are in effect for areas from NYC southward into Maryland where temperatures are yet to go below 32. They should do so tonight even in the warmer urban areas. Many inland areas will see lows in the 20s Saturday morning.
Saturday will be a well deserved sunny nice day but it will be cold with highs just in the 40s. Saturday night will be clear for most of the night with lows in the 20s in cold spots and mostly 30s elsewhere. We will start to cloud up during the early morning hours Sunday. Temperatures will likely be a degree or two higher than Saturday morning.
Sunday clouds will thicken and it will become breezy ahead of a cold front and a developing wave on the front. Showers will develop during the mid to late afternoon and continue into Sunday evening. There might even be a rumble or two of thunder with this front. Highs will be in the 50s. Behind the front Sunday night northwest winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts. Colder air returns again and Monday will be windy and cold with in and out clouds and sun. Highs will just be in the 40s. Monday night will still be windy at times with clouds and a passing rain or snow shower. Tuesday will be sunny and cold but the winds will diminish. Highs Tuesday will again be in the 40s.
Through Tuesday temperatures will be below normal however the jet stream relaxes next week and the flow from Canada will be shut off. We will see temperatures get back to near normal Wednesday and then go above normal late next week. it will also be dry all of next week (other than a passing rain or snow shower Monday night) and we should have some sunshine each day. Temperatures will be in the 50s Wednesday and then into the 60s for Thursday and Friday.
