Widely Scattered Showers Today Very Warm to Hot Humid Into the Weekend

We have a warm humid day ahead and a weak cold front and upper trough will be swinging through this afternoon and evening. Ahead of it we will see partly sunny skies. Highs will reach the low and middle 80s. As the upper trough swings through it could set off some scattered showers or a thunderstorm. We don’t expect severe weather issues though there could be a heavier downpour or two.

The best chance for any scattered showers will be from Northern Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey north and east. Most folks will wind up seeing very little. Behind the front is slightly drier air and that should lower humidity somewhat the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday) but more sunshine means higher temperatures.

Wednesday highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. Thursday highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Friday we have a weak weathre front that will be approaching and moving through. We will see partly sunny very warm to hot and a little more humid. Highs will reach upper 80s to near 90. There could be a late day scattered shower or thunderstorm.

The weekend sees us in an onshore flow which really shouldn’t create many issues other than maybe some nighttime and early morning clouds that give way to partly sunny skies. The flow off the ocean will hold the temperatures back for both Saturday and Sunday. Most highs both days will be in the mid to upper 80s and lows at night in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Temperatures will be in the cooler upper 70s and lower 80s at the beaches.

Next week will start very warm to hot and humid followed by a cold front late Tuesday. The second half of next week is looking much cooler with lower humidity. We may also see the tropics come alive off the East Coast as the quiet August in the tropics looks to end as we close the books on August. For now we are looking at hints and nothing definitive.
