Winter Weather Advisory is posted for Northeastern Pennsylvania including Pike County. Also Winter Weather Advisory is posted for Sullivan County north through the Catskills. as well as for Eastern Dutchess County in NY, The northern half of Connecticut north of Route 84. Winter Storm Watches and Winter Storm Warnings are posted for areas further north in New England. This will be an elevation driven event. Lower elevations will see very little while several inches or more are likely for higher elevation areas for Friday into Saturday morning. This will be a heavy wet snow with a high water content.

For Northern New Jersey no advisories are posted though some wet snow and sleet could mix in at times Friday into Saturday morning. Rain will be the bigger issue in areas to the south of the advisories with 1 to 2 inches or more forecast which could cause localized flooding problems. Radars below show the large sprawling upper air storm that is supporting the surface storm moving across the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. Precipitation will begin overnight in Pennsylvania and then spread eastward Friday morning into New England. For areas in New England under Winter Storm Warnings a foot or more of heavy wet snow is possible.

The storm will begin to pull out Saturday morning and weather conditions will improve from west to east during Saturday with sunshine returning on Sunday.

For some reason the map from Philadelphia which covers Northwest New Jersey and Northeastern Pennsylvania has been slow to update. The official forecast for Northeast Pennsylvania is for 1 to 4 inches for elevated areas in NE Pennsylvania including Pike County.
