Weekend Sunshine Saturday Thunderstorm Chance Late Sunday

Weekend Sunshine Saturday Thunderstorm Chance Late Sunday

We have finally rid ourselves of the stalled frontal boundary that sat over us for 3 days and produced 3 consecutive days of severe weather threats. The weather pattern has changed to one where weather systems will be moving along and they will be coming down from the northwest. We have two weather fronts to deal with over the weekend. A weak one approaches Saturday night with a shower threat during the overnight. A stronger front approaches Sunday with the chance for late day thunderstorms.

SATELLITE

We are enjoying some nice relatively cloud free and rain free weather as the satellite shows nothing more than a few passing clouds. The radar is nice and quiet and will remain so during the day Saturday.

REGIONAL RADAR

storm free

Tonight is nice and clear with most lows in the 50s. We will probably see a few 40s in the cool spots. Saturday we have no issues. Plenty of sunshine should be with us most of the day. Highs will reach the upper 70s to lower 80s with cooler temperatures near the shore. Saturday night a weak cold front arrives and moves through with a chance for a passing overnight shower in one two spots. Most of them will occur inland.

Sunday brings a second stronger cold front that comes through late in the day. We will see some showers and thunderstorms with this front as it moves through. Before the front arrives look for a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 70s to some lower 80s in warm spots. Showers and thunderstorms will roll through during the late afternoon and evening followed by a shot of cool dry air for Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Monday will be partly to mostly sunny. There may be a few more instability clouds inland. Temperatures will be cool with highs in the low to mid 70s. Cool spots as the map indicates will likely hold in the 60s. Tuesday looks nice and sunny with highs in the 70s. High pressure moves offshore setting us up for warmer temperatures for the second half of next week.

The next front approaches late Wednesday so that will bring warmer and more humid conditions along with the risk for thunderstorms late in the day. After Wednesday we will be watching another situation of the front possibly stalling out and creating issues for later next week.
