We are on the edge of the clouds today and if you draw a line across Northern New Jersey to Long Island, from there north and east we have some sunshine while to the south and west of there an overcast sky is gradully taking over. We also have a nice breeze from off the ocean and that will keep temperatures in the low to mid 70s today with the higher numbers inland. Some coastal areas probably won’t get out of the 60s with the east wind.

We can see the showers on the regional radar view building across Northeastern Virginia and Maryland while some other showers also in Northern Pennsylvania and Western NY. The high off the coast of Maine is initially holding the showers back but they will begin to make some northward progress tonight.

Now as far as Saturday goes we will be in lots of clouds all day. We will also have an ocean wind which means temperatures just into the 70s and we will also see some spotty light rain or drizzle pop up from time to time and place to place. As far as any showers , I think the best chance will be tomorrow morning and again later in the afternoon into tomorow night. Timing and specificity is almost impossible to determine so just remember that the risk is there for Saturday though it will not rain all day and it may not necessarily rain where you happen to be.

Sunday the warm front will be to our north and a cold front to our west so we will be in the warm humid sector with clouds and some sun and highs in the 80s. Scattered thunderstorms are possible with the best chance late in the afternoon and evening. Monday brings a dry cool air mass with clouds and some sunshine with highs in the 70s to near 80 followed by a cool Tuesday morning in the 50s. Tuesday looks dry and sunny with highs in the 70s to near 80. As we move through next week we will be gradually transitioning to a very warm humid pattern as a ridge builds in the Eastern US. There may be some showers Wednesday night into Thursday as a warm front goes by which start to bring in the humidity at the end of the week as well as higher temperatures.  By next weekend we could be back into the upper 80s and lower 90s.
