Week Ahead Transition To Very Warm More Humid Conditions
We wrap up a beautiful weekend which by any measure was one of the best weekends you can have for the first weekend of the summer season. Skies were cloud free today and we will see clear skies tonight. The satellite picture this evening shows little cloud cover in the Northeast to the Middle Atlantic States. To the west we can see clouds back in Western Ohio and Indiana where some thunderstorms are underway this evening. There are no issue forecast tonight as skies will be clear with most lows in the 60s with 50s in the cool spots.

Monday our attention turns to the west where a warm front will begin to move eastward. However the movement will be slow. Monday we will see sunshine for a good portion of the day with some arriving high clouds from west to east later in the afternoon and evening. No rain is forecast. There will be more of an ocean wind tomorrow which will hold temperatures back a bit. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
During later Monday night (after midnight) into Tuesday morning there could be some passing shower or a thunderstorm as the warm front goes by. Then higher humidity settles in Tuesday with sunshine and clouds. However the humidity will not get out of control. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s in most places. Temperatures will be a little cooler at the shore.
Much of this week we will be close to the southern end of the jet stream which will keep us close to the border of dry air to our north and humid air to the south. Each day this week looks to be no worse than partly sunny. It will be more humid than it was this weekend but it won’t be overly humid and certainly not as humid as it will be to our south. Each day there is the risk for an isolated pop up shower or thunderstorm but we don’t see any widespread rains this week other than what happens early Tuesday morning when the warm front goes by. Daytime highs will be in the 80s to near 90. Nightime lows will be in the 60s except for near 70 in the warmer urban centers and in the 50s in some of the cool spots.
Next Saturday brings the next cold front with probably the best chance for showers and thunderstorms (other than Tuesday morning). Dry cooler air follows for the week of the 4th of July which is actually setting up as a nice weather week with reasonable temperatures and humidity.
