Weather Volatility Continues Some Models Show Snow Weekend

JOESTRADAMUS has been quoting the old saying that the opera isn’t over until the fat lady sings. Well it seems that she was on the stage about to begin her aria when the director came running and waved her off the stage! We have stated that the only way it snows in a pattern like this is if a disturbance were to come along and time just perfectly with these shots of cold air that come in and go out every 2 days or so. We have another one of those in and out cold shots coming this weekend. Weather models have been struggling with whether or not there would be one of those disturbances coming along with one of those cold shots, Some of today’s weather models seems to suggest this is possible over the weekend; specifically late Saturday into Sunday morning.

CANADIAN MODEL SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY

The Canadian European and the German model all seem on board with this idea. Friday we have a cold front coming through that will bring in the next shot of cold air. The front stalls and a wave develops on that front and moves east. Weather models have been struggling over whether there will be a definable disturbance in the flow and the European/Canadian model seem to be leaning toward the idea that there will be.

The GFS which was on board with this idea overnight has now backed off on this and has a much flatter look to it. This would basically suppress anything well to the south with no consequence to us here.

Right now lets give this a couple of runs to see if the GFS comes in line and joins the others or perhaps it could be the other way around. It should be cold enough for mostly snow here and it falls at night which means the sun angle/warm ground worshipers will have to wait for another day to preach their theories. Meanwhile the fat lady in the opera has taken a chair just offstage.
