Warmer Weather Into Wednesday
Ahead of Another Cold Front Showers Thunderstorms
When colder than average temperature air masses move out, there is a reflexive bounce higher in temperatures because it is early May and the sun is very strong this time of year. As long as the wind direction is mostly land based, there is nothing from stopping temperatures from reflexively bouncing back into the 70s which is what we are forecasting today. There will be plenty of sunshine as one area of clouds goes north and another goes south. Nothing on the radars pose any issues today.

WEATHER RADAR
Temperatures tonight won’t be going anywhere as most lows will be in the 50s with nothing more than a few passing clouds intermixed with a clear sky. Tuesday will be a very warm day with sunshine taking highs into the 80s in many inland locations while areas along the coast will likely be at least 10 degrees cooler as local sea breezes develop during the afternoon and evening hours.
The primary pattern across North America is a trough in the Eastern US which favors below average temperatures overall interrupted by short warm-ups of a day or two between air masses and cold fronts. Such a front approaches Wednesday with showers and thunderstorms. However as noted on the European model, the storms seem to split in two with one area going through New England and the other through the Mid Atlantic states.
We will throw in the chance for some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two in the mix as the front passes late Wednesday and Wednesday night. Clouds will run out ahead of this and temperatures Wednesday will be in the 70s. Once the front passes, as long as it doesn’t stall out and produce complications we should see weather conditions start to improve later Thursday and Friday though another shot of chilly Canadian air will be moving in for the end of the week and for the upcoming weekend.
