Warmer Temperatures & No Rain Until Thursday When A Cold Front Arrives
Satellite and radar loops across New England are showing an upper trough move through with clouds and some snow showers. For us from Southern New England southward to the Southeast US the satellites show mainly clear skies and we will enjoy a nice day of sunshine. All the cold air of the last several days is gone and now we can look forward to warmer temperatures for a few days. The strengthening late February sun will help temperatures climb into the 40s everywhere today and local radars in the East, with the exception of Upstate NY and New England, are nice and quiet.

Weather systems this week are moving across Southern Canada and across the coastal portions of the Gulf States. In between we are nice and dry as the Canadian systems are cut off for the most part from any important feeds of moisture. Lows tracking to the north mean we get to set in more of a warmer westerly flow and that should allow temperatures to generally trend higher.
Two weak weather fronts are showing to be passing through. The first one Tuesday is very weak and will likely produce some clouds and perhaps a passing scattered shower or two. I would not be surprised of’t ta those showers dry up and fall apart. A second front arrives Thursday. That one could have more widespread shower activity with it but we aren’t talking about anything more than a tenth to maybe a quarter of an inch of rain.
This leaves us with a nice weather day for Monday with sunshine and temperatures will be reaching into the upper 40s to mid 50s for highs especially away from the ocean where local sea breezes will kick in. Tuesday will be warmer with a mix of sun and clouds and the outside chance for an isolated shower. Highs will be mostly in the 50s and I would not be surprised if places like Southern New Jersey and points south see highs close to 60.
Wednesday we will see sunshine and highs again in the 50s to perhaps near 60 in the warm spots to the south. Thursday brings clouds and the chance for showers but it will still be warm with highs in the 50s. Once that front passes it turns cooler but for now at least, the flow of cold air from Canada is mostly cut off until perhaps next week when the weather pattern begins to evolve once again into a colder and potentially more stormy.
