Warmer Next Few Days No Issues Through Christmas
Those of you who are travelling for the Christmas and Chanukah holidays this weekend can rest easy as there are no major storms to worry about if you are travelling in the east. However if you are going west especially from the Central and Northern Rockies westward to the Pacific Northwest and interior California, it looks like many of you will have a White Christmas with several storms impacting the weather there for the next week. The map below shows snow forecast to fall from now through Christmas Day.
Meanwhile back here in the east we are seeing the core of this cold air mass moving out today. Skies are sunny for the most part today. A weak system is moving through the Great Lakes with not much weather to speak of. For the most part the weather will be dry into and possibly through the weekend.
Radars are quiet. The next weather front will be moving through on Thursday but other than clouds I am leaving showers out of the forecast for now.
In summary no big storms on the horizon. We may not see any rain here until maybe next Monday at the earliest. Temperatures today will be in the 30s. Wednesday with no worse than partly sunny skies we will reach the 40s. Thursday will be in the 40s to near 50.
Friday and the weekend look for temperatures to average close to or just slightly above average. I think we will see highs mostly in the low to mid 40s Friday through Sunday and while there will be cloud issues, I don’t see any serious travel problems at all.
