Warmer Air Moving In Next Several Days

What an absolutely beautiful Sunday we had with lots of sunshine and barely any clouds in the sky. Temperatures made into the upper 60s to near 70. It was a picture perfect early autumn day. The core of the cool air mass is now moving out and we are beginning to see the upper high in the east building again which means we will see warmer air moving into the Eastern US for much of this coming work week.

Though we are seeing this upper high building we will be on the edge of it this time as the warmest air will be over the upper Midwest. Temperatures however will be running above average at least through Thursday with no rain in the forecast until later Thursday when a weak cold front approaches and moves through with one or two scattered showers.

WEDNESDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

THURSDAY FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

Monday & Tuesday we will see temperatures in the 70s. Wednesday & Thursday will be the warmest days this week with highs Wednesday in the upper 70s to near 80 and Thursday’s highs will be in the 80s in many locations before the cold front moves through. Friday’s temperatures will be a little cooler with highs back into the 70s as the front does not have a strong push of cooler air behind it. No important rain is forecast this week. We will be watching the Gulf of Mexico and the Northwest Caribbean late this week for the possibility of tropical storm development as pressures there are going to be low. We will explore those possibilities after the evening model cycle is done.
