Warm Humid Conditions Into Friday Weekend Looking Nice
Yesterday’s cold front has now settled to our south across the Mid Atlantic states and we do have clouds streaming southeastward overhead for the rest of the day. We will however see some sunshine through the clouds. Even though I’m not expecting thunderstorms to develop today from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England, we could see a few develop well to the south across Maryland to the Delmarva Peninsula. We will keep an eye on the radars this afternoon in case a stray downpour or thunderstorm develops. Humidty levels are on the sticky side today but not outrageous. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
SATELLITE
WEATHER RADAR
Slightly drier air will move in tonight. It isn’t much but it may be enough to bring dew points down to the upper 50s and lower 60s. Temperatures overnight will drop to the 60s to near 70 in the warmer urban areas and skies should at least partially clear. Thursday we will have sunshine but the wind will be off the ocean so that will hold temperatures in the 70s along the coast and 80 to 85 inland. No rain is forecast for Thursday.
Friday brings the next cold front and that will make Friday a warm humid day ahead of the front. Look for some sunshine into the afternoon before the front nears and then we see the chance for thunderstorms late in the day and into the evening. There is the chance there could be some minimal severe weather risk for Friday. Highs once again will be in the 70s along the shore and low to middle 80s inland.
The weekend is shaping up to be a beauty. Other than some leftover clouds early on Saturday, we expect mostly sunny skies to develop. Humidity levels will drop as dew points head for the 50s and even some upper 40s well inland. Highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s. As the GFS model shows us, the high is rather strong and extensive and we will likely see dry air into Monday with temperatures coming up a but it should still be comfortable. Overall we still do not see any long duration heat and humidity coming anytime soon.
