Very Warm Humid Storm Free Day But
Severe Weather Risks Tuesday & Thursday Ahead of July 4th Holiday
Weather conditions today are likely to be free of showers and thunderstorms and instead it will be a day of sunshine. It will be very warm and rather humid but the atmosphere is stable enough where we have little to no risk for even isolated storms. Temperatures today will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. It will be a little cooler along the shore with south to southwest winds keeping temperatures mostly in the 80s and even 70s right on the beaches. Radars are nice and quiet with nothing on them from Maine to Virginia.

WEATHER RADAR
We have no weather issues to speak of tonight with most lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. The week ahead will be about upper air troughs and cold fronts. The first weak upper trough will move through Monday afternoon. We have a second stronger trough that will pass late Tuesday and a third front and trough that will move through the Northeast Thursday.
Monday will be a very warm to hot day with some sunshine. We will throw in the chance for some scattered showers or a thunderstorm but the highest chances will likely be well inland. It will be a humid day with highs in the upper 80s to around or just over 90 degrees inland and a few degrees lower along coastal locations.
Tuesday we have an approaching front and trough and this could be a day where we see widespread shwoers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours. The Storm Prediction Center has already indicated a large geographic area of risk from North Carolina to Maine and I think the dynamics are there for risk levels to be raised once we get closer to Tuesday.
Ahead of any thunderstorms it will be another very warm to hot and humid day with most highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s inland and lower 80s to upper 70s along the coast where local sea breezes will occur. We expect that the highest risk time for thunderstorms will begin during the afternoon and last through Tuesday evening before the front exits to the east.
Wednesday looks to be a quiet day with sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Then Thursday we have another cold front dropping southward from Upstate New York and that could set off a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Highs will again be in the mid to upper 80s. However behind this front is a solid push of dry air that will bring low humidity and lots of sunshine for Friday, the 4th of July. No thunderstorms are forecast for the Independence Day holiday. Highs Friday will be in the low to middle 80s with dew points in the very comfortable 50s. Next Saturday and Sunday will also prove to be rain free days and warm temperatures making an entire weekend with no rain in the forecast.
