TROPICAL STORM DEVELOPMENT THREAT CONTINUES

TROPICAL STORM DEVELOPMENT THREAT CONTINUES

TROPICAL STORM DEVELOPMENT THREAT CONTINUES

The broad low pressure center in the NW Caribbean has now emerged into the Gulf of Mexico. Satellite loops show that much of the thunderstorms remain east of the center and the system remains disorgainzed though a large area of gale force winds is being produced offshore. With the low now offshore and marginally favorable conditions for development we could see this system become a tropical depression or tropical storm at any time. Watch the center of circulation on the satellite loop to see if thunderstorms begin to develop around the center. There seems to be some action now near the low center. Lets see if this continues for the rest of the day.

With regards to the future of this system most of the weather models strengthen this to a tropical storm and the hurricane models continue to cluster the system somewhere along the Texas Louisana coastline. Longer term models seem to want to bring the remnant moisture to the Northeast late this week or this weekend but we will have to see on this.

The wider satellite loops also show the tropical disturbance in the Atlantic approaching the northern coast of South America. This system is so far south that we could see this move into Venezuela.
