Thunderstorms Exit One More Front Sunday Dry Air Returns

The severe weather threat is over with though we still have some residual showers and thunderstorms moving southeastward across Pennsylvania and into Central and Southern New Jersey. The line is weakening now that we are past sunset. This is all part of the first weather front that is moving through. On the satellite picture you can see clouds along the Canadian border across upstate NY & Northern New England. This front will pass through our area around midday Sunday. The rest of tonight will be warm with most lows in the mid 60s to lower 70s.

Regional and local radars are still rather active this evening. We will be focusing on the next cold front coming southward for Sunday this will bring in dry air for later Sunday and Monday.

Sunday will start with clouds with some sun but then we could see some scattered showers or perhaps a thunderstorm around midday to early afternoon. The best chances for these will east of NYC in the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and Long Island. The chances are low to the west in  New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Temperatures will have a wide range tomorrow from the 70s in the Hudson Valley and Southern New England to mid and upper 80s Southern New Jersey and Southeastern Pennsylvania.

The humidity will drop sharply behind the second front as skies clear Sunday night. lows will be in the 50s inland and lower 60s in warm urban centers. Monday will be a good looking day with sunshine, low humidity and highs in the upper 70s inland and north, 80 to 85 elsewhere. There are no important changes to the outlook for next week. Another front approaches with the chance for a few showers or a thunderstorm late Monday night or early Tuesday.

Summer Weekend Hot Saturday Severe Weather Possible Less Humid Sunday

Tuesday we will see clouds and some sun with highs in the 80s. Starting Wednesday it will turn very warm and more humid with some sunshine each day and the chance for scattered thunderstorms each late afternoon and evening Wednesday through Friday. Much of the time it will be rain free. Highs will be in the 80s to near 90. The next important weather front will arrive sometime next weekend.
