Temperatures & Humidity Heading Higher Over the Weekend & Next Week

We have reached the doorstep of the weekend and our mostly dry, warm & humid weather continues with very little rain in the forecast for the next 6 or 7 days. The onshore flow does continue today but at least it devoid of low clouds and ocean moisture. Clouds to the south seem to be pinned in the Southeast US and not advancing northward much. We expect no worse than partly sunny skies today. The ocean wind will keep temperatures at the beaches in the 70s to around 80 degrees and inland highs will be in the low to mid 80s. Radars are quiet and will remain so until further notice. Tonight we will see nothing more than a few clouds. Most lows will be in the mid to upper 50s inland and 60 to 65 coast and warmer urban locations.

The onshore flow will begin to relax over the weekend but it will still be there for Saturday. That will once again keep temperatures in check to some degree. We see skies being again no worse than partly sunny. Afternoon highs will be in a range of 80 to 85 degrees for highs and the shore will be about 10 or so degrees cooler with that ocean wind. However we will begin to see the winds turning more south and southwest as we head into Sunday.

Up until Saturday, dew points during the day have been in the upper 50s and lower 60s which for summertime is not bad. However we will start to see dew points inch up Sunday. More of a south wind will also mean that temperatures will climb a little higher. Skies Sunday will again be no worse that partly sunny with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s though it will be a little cooler at the shore.

Next week is going to be very warm to hot and humid with dew points rising into the upper 60s and lower 70s again making things rather uncomfortable. We probably won’t see much in the way of showers and thunderstorms. The first chance probably comes later Wednesday as a frontal boundary approaches but we do not see widespread rain in the forecast anytime soon. We will also be seeing temperatures reaching into the 90s for highs through the first half of next week at least.
