Temperatures Humidity Ease Next 3 Days Labor Day Weekend Outlook

A cold front has passed through overnight and we did see some rain as the front went by. It was a small drop in a very big bucket but you take what you can get and you move on. Today begins a 3 day stretch of much lower humidity. Intitially temperatures are still going to be very warm as a northwest wind and sunshine should take highs to the mid and upper 80s. However dew points will be dropping into the 40s this afternoon making it feel rather desert like. Tonight will be mostly clear with most inland lows in the 50s while warmer urban and coastal settings will be in the low to mid 60s.

The downtrend in temperatures continues Thursday with lots of sunshine. Highs will be in the low to middle 80s with very low humidity. Friday will be the 3rd and final day of of lower temperatures and humidity. We will see susnhine as high pressure moves overhead. Highs will be mostly in the lower 80s.

The weekend will bring back very warm to hot conditions along with higher humidity. Saturday winds will turn southwest and sunshine will take highs to the middle and upper 80s. Though humidity will be higher it will still be reasonable. We are not going to include the mention of a shower or thunderstorm Saturday.

Sunday will be hot and humid with some sunshine but late in the day we will see a cold front near the coast and that could put us at risk for some late day scattered thunderstorms. Sunday highs will be in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees in some places. The front will stall overhead Monday leaving us with clouds and the chance for another shower or thunderstorm. Highs Monday Labor Day will be in the 80s.

In the tropics we have 3 systems out in the Atlantic Basin. None of them are a risk to a landfall in the US this weekend so we have little to be concerned about. A tropical wave in the Central Tropical Atlantic is getting better organized and it could become a tropical depression later today or Thursday.

The upper pattern along the East Coast will be mostly from west to east so even if this system in the Atlantic does develop, it will pass well to the East of the Bahamas and make a sharp turn to the northeast over the weekend and early next week.
