Sunshine & Warmer Temperatures Today Into Tuesday Chilly Rain Wednesday

After a crazy few days of crazy models doing crazy things, we got through our coating to an inch or so of snow overnight and we can enjoy a dry Presidents Day to finish off the holiday weekend. There is very little real cold air to speak of behind yesterday’s weather system so we will enjoy clouds giving way to some sunshine later today. Most highs will reach the low to a few middle 40s this afternoon. Radars are nice and quiet with no issues. A warmish night lies ahead with no worse than partially clear skies. Tuesday morning lows will be in the 20s to lower 30s.

The week ahead is going to feature weakening lows pressure areas as winter weather and storminess shifts to the Western US. One such storm heads into the Northern Plains and a warm front will be setting up virtually overhead. Most of Eastern Pennsylvania will be on the south side of this frontal boundary which is the warmer side.

This leaves us with a nice day Tuesday with sunshine, perhaps giving way to some arriving clouds from the northwest late in the day. Tuesday highs will be in the middle 40s to around 50 degrees in some places. We will likely see rain developing Wednesday with low pressure passing to the north and settling off the New England coast. Temperatures Wednesday wlll be in a wide range from upper 30s and lower 40s north and east of New York City and Upper 40s and lower 50s over Southern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey. Thursday will be mild and dry and then we will go through this all over again later Friday and into Saturday as another low and another frontal boundary sets up across the Northeast. Enjoy the last day of the holiday weekend.
