Sunshine Starts Thaw Week
It is a good looking start to the new week with sunshine and temperatures slightly above average. There are some clouds to the west and those will begin to come in this afternoon from the southwest. Temperatures today should reach the low to mid 40s without too much difficulty. To the west on the satellite loop you can see the swirl that is the ice storm in the Central Plains. That system will be coming eastward with clouds increasing tonight and rain on Tuesday.
Radars are quiet today and will remain so into the first part of tonight before we begin to see some rain increase from the west. If the rain comes in fast enough early Tuesday it could start as freezing rain in areas of Northeast Pennsylvania and parts of upstate NY but it should not be a problem for any of us. Rain will be with us on and off into early Wednesday until this weather system passes to the east.

Afterwards the rest of the week we will see another chance for rain later Friday into Saturday and again late in the weekend and early next week. Beyond that models continue to flash pattern change signals going into the end of the month. We will address this issue later today in our long range outlook.
