Sunshine Rising Temperatures Next Few Days Cold Front Passes Tuesday Night

A new day and a new work week begins and we have sunshine. Low pressure is moving away from from New England and we will see diminished winds, sunshine, and temperatures today that will be rising into the 70s. It will be a little cooler along south and east facing shorelines as local sea breezes take hold during the afternoon and evening hours. Radars are nice and quiet and we do not have have any rain in the forecast at least through the daytime Tuesday. Tonight we should see nothing more than some passing clouds with lows in the upper 40s to mid 50s.

WEATHER RADAR

Tuesday sees low pressure moving across the Great Lakes and then across Southeastern Candaa. A trailing northeast to southwest cold front will set up across Upstate NY and Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. We are likely to see showers, thunderstorms and severe weather form in this zone but the storms will likley cut off west of Interstate 81. Ahead of the front west to southwest winds bring up very warm air to the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states.

The front will be heading east Tuesday night it will lose support and we expect any showers and thundertorms to weaken and fall apart as they head east. For now we are not going to include them in the forecast. The dayside Tuesday will be mainly sunny for most of the day. Temperatures will be very warm with highs in the 80s just about everywhere except for the immediate coast where local sea breezes will come in.

The front passes through leaving some leftover warm air around Wednesday. We can expect clouds and some sunshine with highs Wednesday afternoon mostly in the mid to upper 70s. Some lower 80s are possible across Southern New Jersey and points southward. High pressure should keep things dry through Thursday. Friday brings another weather front and there may be a higher risk for showers and thunderstorms late Friday and possibly lingering into at least part of the weekend.
