Sunshine & Nice Sunday Monday,

Snow Chance Tuesday Still Uncertain

The wave to the south is moving off shore this evening with some high clouds that reached into Southern New England and light precipitation actually made it as far north as Cape May NJ. The bulk of the precipitation from Delaware southward and it should continue to move southeastward away from the coast. Skies will clear out tonight with temperatures having no place to go but down as cold air comes in from the north. Lows will be in the mid 20s to lower 30s. We should see nice weather on Sunday with sunshine and some clouds and we have cold air and a disturbance rotating around the system in New Foundland which just won’t go away. Most highs will be in the low to mid 40s.

Monday high pressure north of the Great Lakes will reach in with sunshine for at least part of the day before some high clouds begin to arrive ahead of Tuesday’s weather system. Highs will be in the 40 to 45 degree range and we will be down in the upper 20s and lower 30s Tuesday morning.

SNOW TUESDAY BUT HOW FAR NORTH WILL IT GET?

https://youtu.be/bszkULwt6GE

Low pressure will move across the Tennessee Valley and as the primary dies a secondary develops and heads to just off the Virginia coast. How far north does the snow shield get? This is the big question. The northern cut off will be sharp. Does the northern edge make it as far north as Route 84 or does it stop at around Route 287 in Southern Westchester? Perhaps it makes it as far north as somewhere between Route 195 & Route 78 in New Jersey. The difference here from south to north is not very much. I’m not ready to make a snow forecast yet. There is no rush here at this point. With so many moving parts as the upper air jet stream shows above there is still plenty of room for maneuvering north or south. The watching and waiting will continue. I may put out a preliminary snow forecast map later this evening.
