Sultry Sunday Showers Thunderstorms Monday Week Ahead Outlook
Sultry Sunday Showers Thunderstorms Monday Week Ahead Outlook
We have another summer day across Eastern Pennsylvania and no rain is in the forecast so go ahead with outdoor plans. It will be a very warm to hot day and humidity levels will be higher today making it more uncomfortable. There will be some showers and thunderstorms in Western NY and Western Pennsylvania as a cold front approaches. However that front won’t be close enough today to cause any issues. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Local sea breezes will develop along the immediate coast providing some relief at the beaches. Tonight will be a warm humid night with lows in the upper 60s inland and mostly low 70s along the coast.

Monday we will have a cold front moving through and it looks like it will be passing through the morning into early afternoon. The timing of the front will mean that clouds will roll in early Monday morning. This earlier time arrival will keep temperatures lower on Monday than today. Highs will reach into the 80s in most places but it will be probably more on the lower end of the 80s.
The timing of the front coming through early in the day and the lack of strong daytime heating means that thunderstorms are not likely to be severe. The front will be passing offshore during the afternoon with leftover clouds behind it. Drier air will be coming in Monday night lowering the humidity.
Tuesday through Friday looks like a stretch of decent weather overall with temperatures cooler on Tuesday. We will have sunshine and highs will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s. Starting Wednesday temperatures will start to move higher and humidity will slowly climb higher as well. It appears we will likely go through the rest of the work week with little or no rain to speak of.
Wednesday a weak front will pass with little fanfare other than a few clouds and maybe a shower or thunderstorm to the north in Upstate NY. We will call it partly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s. Thursday we will move up a little higher with temepratures and humidity. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. Friday will be very warm to hot again with sunshine taking highs to the upper 80s to around 90 degrees. There are questions now regarding the 4th of July weekend as another cold front heads east. The front is going to be slowing down as it nears and it may be hanging around nearby so the risk for showers over the weekend is increasing. We will be addressing the holiday weekend later today.
