STORM SYSTEM SHOULD STAY SOUTH FOR THE LATE WEEK. WEEKEND LOOKS RAIN FREE

This is a great example of how the long range evolves and changes over time as it works into the short range. If you think back to a few days a go the talk was on the possibility of a soaking rain for late this week. In fact models had the possibility of 2 shots of rain; one for Thursday and one for Saturday. Then it became just one event for Friday into Saturday. Now it has evolved into a low that is going to pass by to our south and rain will make it to perhaps Southern New Jersey on Friday and thats it. The European model is the only one that brings rain that far north. The GFS model doesn’t bring it anywhere close

The only issue I see over the next 5 days is that we will gradually shift to a northeast flow at low levels and this time of year that usually means low clouds and perhaps some patchy fog during the nighttime and early morning hours and then you spend the morning waiting for those clouds to burn off to some sunshine. The temperature trend over the next few days is lower with Friday being the coolest of the next several days. No thunderstorms are in the forecast through Sunday..no severe weather and the tropics remain quiet so we can take a bit of a snooze in the forecast world.

Thank you to tropical tidbits for the maps!
