Sticky Today Thursday A Touch Less Humid Friday Saturday

Very Warm Days Ahead

We had a cold front move though overnight and you can see it on the satellite loop represented by the line of clouds offshore. We have cleared out behind the front and we do have a sunny sticky day ahead. Humidity levels will be on the high side today because we have to wait for an upper trough to move through and bring a little dew point relief. That trough is producing clouds over the Great Lakes along with a few showers. We don’t see any shower issues during the day and sunshine will take highs well up into the 80s to around 90 degrees.

Tonight look for patchy clouds and there might be a couple of widely scattered showers overnight. Lows will be in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Thursday we see the upper trough moving through and producing a few scattered showers or a thunderstorm. Highs will be in the in the mid 80s to around 90 degrees with humidity again on the sticky side.

We do see some humidity relief Friday and probably lasting into Saturday. The air mass behind the trough is weak so temperatures will still be very warm but at least the humidity will be a little lower. Highs Friday will be in the middle to upper 80s. We should see a fair amount of sunshine, and no rain is forecast for Friday. Saturday look for a similar type day with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Very warm and humid conditions will be hack Sunday and we will throw in the chance for scattered showers or a thunderstorm. The flow will be from the south as the march of endless cold fronts from Canada take a short break. Highs Sunday will be in the mid to upper 80s.

The pattern we are in has been an increasingly dry one as weather fronts have only been able to produce a limited amount of rain. We might see some higher chances for downpours and thundertorms early next week as weather fronts slow down as they move east. We are heading into the warmest time of the year as far as temperatures go (last 2 weeks of July, first week of August). Not much is going to change in the overall pattern as we head into the second half of July. The tropics remain on the quiet side for the next week to 10 days.
