Springtime Warmth Wednesday

Springtime Warmth Wednesday

We are on track for Springtime Warmth Wednesday as high pressure to the south and a front dropping down from upstate New York put our area in the sweet spot. The front should hold off passing through until Wednesday night which means temperatures could make a run for 70 in areas away from the ocean. From the standpoint of clouds we will have some tonight as the warm air arrives. This will hold temperatures up nicely and keep them primarily in the 40s. Showers with the warm air should pass well to our north tonight. Then we go to partly to mostly sunny skies Wednesday and temperatures should have no problem taking off and climbing.

Satellite loop this evening shows high clouds coming in from the west. The bulk of those clouds should go north. This is where the back door cold front sets up for Wednesday putting us in the warm sector.

You can see some showers appearing on the regional radar but they are way up north and nothing is forming close by. This should be the case for the entire night and the daytime on Wednesday.

Once the backdoor front drops through temperatures are going to start to struggle on Thursday. The wind will go east and then gradually turn to the south. Temperatures could wind up being all over the place. Also there will be some sunshine and clouds. My thinking is that all coastal areas will probably stay in the 40s and 50s on Thursday with inland areas eventually reaching into the 60s. No showers are forecast for the daytime Thursday as they should hold off until after midnight Thursday night.

Friday could be another tricky day temperature wise as it will be in the 60s to near 70 Friday morning and then once the showers end and the cold front passes, temperatures will fall off Friday afternoon as skies clear out. The Easter weekend looks good and here is the latest on that.
