We have a shrinking area of Coastal Flood Advisories that are about to expire and we will see tides gradually return to normal over the next few days. The coastal  low is well offshore and judging from the satellite pictures and satellite loops, the storm is really a disorganized system with the surface low well separate from any of the more impressive higher level clouds and steadier rain which is well offshore. Rain is arcing back westward over coastal Maine south to Cape Cod. That is about it though as far as the steadier rain is concerned.

Other than the rain that is over Eastern New England we have some showers moving northeastward across Virginia and North Carolina. Other bands are weaker and nearby on the radars as they move northeastward. This is part of the second trough to the west that is kicking our storm away to the northeast.

We will likely see some rain overnight with some patchy light rain or drizzle around as well. No frozen precipitation is forecast and all Winter Weather Advisories are done with remaining advisories further north into Upstate NY and interior New England. This should all move out before daybreak and weather conditions should start to improve on Tuesday.

Sunshine should come back after we work through whatever leftover clouds are around in the morning. That should boost temperatures to the upper 40s and lower 50s. Another low is going to develop offshore and move northeastward Tuesday night well offshore. It does bring down dry chilly air for Wednesday into Thursday. Sunshine is forecast for Wednesday and for at least the start of Thursday. Highs Wednesday will be in the 40s to near 50. Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

The next front is approaching for Friday with southwest winds ahead of it and a chance for showers later in the day. The front will pass offshore Friday night it will stall out as a second wave comes up behind if for Saturday That could bring some rain back on Saturday if the wave tracks far enough north. That is the next forecast puzzle on the table. The very cold weather pattern of last week has broken down for the time being and we seem to be going into a period of normalcy as we head into Thanksgiving week. If model timing in the long range is correct we could see another chance for showers or rain midweek on Thanksgiving week but that is a reach at this point 9 days out into the long range.
