We continue to see evidence of a second wave developing on the front offshore for Thursday night into Friday morning. That wave comes at the same time as colder air is coming back especially aloft. If we get some precipitation with a little bit of intensity a cheap thrill snowfall for Thursday night into Friday morning is not impossible for Long Island and Southeastern Connecticut though I think at this point it would only be a coating and only on colder surfaces since it will be above freezing all day Thursday. This is just a cheap thrill and nothing to get overly excited about.

I added coastal New Jersey to this idea because I thought they might be close enough to the back edge shield of the precipitation. Notice on the new NAM model how small an area we are talking about here. There could be some 2 to 3 inch amounts just to the east.
